This is my current environment work in progress. It's a wellspring that sits in a temple somewhere in East Asia. I'm excited to be working on this, so be sure to follow along as I update this project over time! I'll make a new post when I'm all done.
So far, I've focused on completing the blockout and making sure everything is in correct proportion compared to the original concept drawing. I also started planning for modularity and the use of trim sheets for repeating brick patterns throughout the scene. Some modular/repeating assets include the clay pots, multiple column structures, building walls and trims, various bricks, hanging lanterns, and stone steps. Some things that will need to be unique are certain tree roots, the magical bowl, and the clothing.
Below, you can see the beginnings of my trim sheet for the scene. It's mostly repeating brick patterns with one tileable section strip. I'm looking for more things to include in the bottom section so I don't waste any texture space -- it'll probably include a couple decals.
